It's all about fun. These cars are are meant for pretending to 4wd. Maybe you were unaware of that. Dirt roads with deep ruts, no problem. Big rocks, not a problem.
You may be fine in California but here in the salt belt is a different story. Toyota or Subaru meant for whatever is being covered to remain covered and I don't want no salt slush getting all up in there.
