TBH I'm not a fan of either meguiars or mothers (they are decent off the shelf products) but don't provide the same quality as say optimum.
That being said, I would trust whatever the low-rider guys say... because like you said they spend half their lives washing their car and kissing it so they must know some things about car care right?
