Wish I could find the other thread on the subject but can't. The ones with the issue seemed to be a very closely grouped batch based upon VINs. All were fixed under warranty with no questions asked which usually means there was a know issue even if no TSB is issued. It was suspected (as also said in the linked thread) that the trim may have been too ridged and wore the paint causing the issue. Even the other thread only had 8 or so cars so not exactly a rampant issue no matter how you look at it. All had done it within a year so if still OK then probably not going to be a problem.
I recall it so well because being an Ontarioite the minute I see the word "rust" all sorts of alarm bells go off and I start digging for info. I have had 6 or 7 year old cars with no floor left so I panic a bit at the thought.
