This is easy. Do WHATEVER makes your soon-to-be-wife happy. End of story. Stay with her forever as husband and wife and care for your beautiful family. The joy you'll get from putting them first will make any ecstasy you may derive from driving even the most enthralling of automobiles seem like soggy raisin bran w/ curdled milk.

Having said that, I tend to side w/ the folks who question the immediate need for a minivan. That's an American thing (and yes, I'm an American). In Mexico, having a second kid means there's still room for another bag or two of groceries and the family dog on the scooter when you take the whole family out. We raised three sons and eventually DID go the way of a Ford Aerostar then onto an SUV or two (MISTAKE.. my tiny wife discovered she loves big ol' SUVs and that's all she'll drive now... sigh...), but also had Nissan Sentras, a Dodge Colt E, and other econoboxes back in the ...umm... financially challenging eras. We always got by, and we always had fun.

OH, BTW.. best family car of all time? The Dodge (or was it Plymouth)(OK.. REALLY it was a Mitsubishi) Colt Vista. The original MICRO van. Three rows of seats, great gas mileage, cheap to buy, own, and drive, reliable, and just fun, and all built into a size smaller than the typical Subaru Outback. LOVED that car.

Good thing they only made it a few years. Why does that happen EVERY time I find a car I like? They either discontinue it (the Colt Vista) or ruin it (the e36 BMW 3 series, the '93-'95 Range Rover County LWB).

Best wishes.. enjoy your family, and I hope you have a wonderful marriage.
