C street mods that may turn to STX

I've done very little autox, and zero HPDE with my FR-S. For several years I've been tracking my Porsche 944, and autoxing my completely stock Boxster 986S with PCA. In the last few years, I have only been autoxing. Now I've "retired" my 944 from track duty and returned it back to mostly stock. I've been contemplating getting back into HPDE in the FR-S and competing in SCCA autocross with it. I'll definitely continue to be at most of our local PCA events in the Boxster (I'm active on the PCA autox committee).

I've been thinking about STX for the FR-S only because of the potential need for brake and cooling upgrades for HPDE use. I'll be lucky to make more than a 3 or so HPDE's in a year, so I really don't want to put a bunch of money in the car for a "maybe" use.

If I go the C Street route for SCCA autocross, what mods would you suggest that won't be a waste of money should I end up going the STX route? I don't mind having an extra set of 17x7 wheels, so that wouldn't be wasted money.
