My STI lip lost a battle with a concrete block over the Xmas break:
So, I started looking for something to replace it. I wanted something with more wrap-around coverage, and narrowed it down to the Greddy GRacer lip:
http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/gred...l#.VpsCYE-S-YI or the C-West one. I didn't like the rounded side of the Greddy, plus I'd have to paint it, so I picked the C-West.
The C-West is molded out of white ABS plastic, and pre-painted. I'd say that the paint is a 90% match. It doesn't look as blue or purple under some lighting conditions as my DGM BRZ, but close enough.
I had some clear bra material on hand so I put some near the bottom edges for added protection. I also had some vinyl carbon-look wrap, so I put some in the middle section, as well as a strip on the sides. This was to add some removable scrape/rock protection. Installation went relatively easily, and fit was pretty good. Double sided tape is used as well as four screws which utilize existing holes in the bumper cover.
The STI lip is about 1.25" lower than the stock bumper. The bottom of the C-West lip is about 1.75" lower than the stock bumper. This, combined with my already lowered car means more scrapes to be expected. I just have to be even more careful than before. It doesn't help that the C-West lip is molded in white so scrapes will have to be covered up with touch-up paint.
I think that the understated STI lip is probably the most elegant add-on low profile lip there is for the BRZ, and I was afraid that the C-West lip would look too bulky. It actually isn't as big as it looks in some photos I've seen, and doesn't overpower the front of the car or look disproportionate without side skirts and a rear kit. It definitely looks more aggressive, and it's starting to grow on me.
