As I said in what was quoted, the OPP (Provincial equivalent to State Troopers) actually have detector, detector, detectors. These are stand alone units and not part of the radar system. There is currently no model radar detector that they can not detect. Local forces may still have equipment that the detector, detector may work on but not any police on a major or county highway. If coming from the States keep them turned off 'cuz a more strict cop could have made him take it out, taken it and given him a fine.
