Actually I have yet to spot a wide body kitted twin in my travels. I see at least 6-7 twins, on my short daily commute, spotted a bunch in Japan in just two days of a recent trip and, though in Korea for around 6 days, I only spotted a single 86 in traffic. According to the various tour guides there is some social stigma related to owning Japanese cars there.
I can certainly understand an owners desire to be different and to be honest, if I spotted one in traffic (all giant wing and rivets) I’d honestly think it was cool. See the elephant in the room here is that it’s something unusual and rarely seen in the wild and so (to me) I think it’s cool.
As others have said it would naturally need to be properly executed and I’d, at the very least, expect some form of forced induction in the build.
If it’s something you see all the time like a few in your area, at car shows or car meets etc I think the commonality of it would eventually make you think it was more a rice thing and lead you to appreciate the cleaner beauty of the regular car or one with a more subtle body kit and less wild wheels.
