Two switches to check come to mind and I don't know if they have them for certain since I have a manual. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
There are generally two switches that can stop you from getting a push button car started. The first is a brake switch and the other is gear selector position sensor.
The first switch's job is obvious. The other switch, sometimes referred to as a NSS (Neutral Safety Switch) is meant to prevent an automatic from being started in anything other than park or neutral.
