Practical + road trips with more than one person may eliminate the brz (unless one of your friends is an amputee). Don't worry about torque dips or 1/4 mile times, for most of us, that will never really matter.

Personally, I like being able to take a cloverleaf 25MPH off ramp at 50MPH on stock tires. Getting to 140 faster than the next guy just isn't part of my daily commute. For the record, getting sideways is, but only after it's been raining. :-)

Why I the torque dip a non issue? Is it because you can sort of bypass it by bringing the car to redline before shifting to keep the revs above 4k?

I really can't picture how bad the back seats really are on a BRZ. I do need to see if in person. But the problem is I want a MT, but I have only driven one a few Times. I don't think someone would let me test drive one basically not knowing exactly how to drive one. And there is no place in NJ that sells an automatic brz. I looked. I may look for an FRS just to drive.

That is the thing too, I am already faster at accelerating than almost anyone on the road from a stop with my current car. Pedal not even to the floor. Especially BMW drivers. Driving the ultimate driving machine like a grandma. If I'm behind people, I'm only as fast as the slowest person.
