But yes, the gearing difference should have been mentioned in my post and I think was neglected in the article.
That's why you don't go 235/45-17. If stock is a 215/45-17, switching to a 245/40-17 only changes your overall diameter by .1" which becomes a moot point especially once you've lost 1/16" of tread.
