In Street class you can only vary the wheel offset by +7mm. So +41 would be the widest you could go.

I would also recommend 225/45-17 as it has good feel and communicates very well to the driver. If you are a beginner, you might want to focus more on being able to place the car accurately vs overall grip. The 225s should allow you to accurately place the car easier than a more vague feeling 245 set up. YMMV
