Is this the Pioneer unit? "Reset" as in it needs a password? If so, there IS a hack..
I bought my BRZ used, someone had previously set a password (prev owner said he hadn't but who else would?)
Anyway, I disconnected the battery one day while installing my catch can and when I started the car back up, the HU needed a password to do literally anything other than power up.
Did a little internet research, loaded a program onto a microSD and used it to find what password had been set, which let me unlock the thing and reset the password.
I still have the files if this is the problem you have with your HU.
