So what are y'all gonna do on the day you go to rip that pbrake on that super steep SanFran hill and the cable snaps?
*shit storm resume*
I have to confess, I taught myself to drive manual in this car. My first day out (the day after I drove it home from the dealership and stalled 6 times), I found some hill to practice. I had a douche nozzle threatening my exhaust pipes. I stalled once after a roll-back. On my second go, I used the pbrake because I think they were now playing "just the tip" with my exhaust.
I haven't used the pbrake to start on a hill since then. It's either a pre-rev with my heel so I have some energy in the system, or a heel-toe start if I have time to get it right. If the hill is shallow, it's just a quick move over to gas with a bit of clutch at the biting point to hold it.
Another confession: I was leaving a show. I was on an incline in the parking garage that was so steep I had to pull myself forward with the steering wheel in an attempt to see over the hood to check for cars. The garage was VERY busy with everyone leaving at the same time. I did the pre-rev thing, and then jumped on the gas. The tires chirped on that epoxy stuff they use to waterproof the garages. I bet everyone was thinking "man, that guy, I wish I could be his friend" No fawks given.
Don't use your pbrake as a crutch. Learn to use the 3 pedals at your feet the way they were meant to be used, and leave the pbrake for parking. btw, I'm 6'4" with size 13/14 feet. I don't want anybody complaining that they can't heel-toe in this car. It's definitely doable.
