Here's why - it's
not a race car, and it can be done without the ebrake. If you need to use it, then you simply need more practice. I could say I like to flip my wipers on every time I start off, just because I want to be sure I can see. But if it's 70 degrees and sunny, then there's not really much point, right? If someone points out what a ridiculous thing it is to do that, they'd be correct, despite it being well within my rights to perform whatever foolish ritual I think needs to be done before driving away. The real solution isn't using the tool (crutch); it's refining technique.
