I thought dropping them was just a cost-cutting measure but that makes sense. My Eclipse had an oil pressure gauge.
On a related note, I thought my water temps were rock solid on both my Eclipse and this one. Imagine my disappointment when a few months ago someone here explained to me that once the gauge reaches normal, unless there's a drastic change in temp, it just sits there.
There's a reason they're called "idiot lights."
