Gas Problem maybe? Helpppp
Hey guys I recently just filled up my car from a Texaco station. When I was driving home every time I went into a different gear there was a slight delay then it started to jerk. I pulled over and let the car sit and the rpm started to dip below the normal area. I turned it off and on and it struggled to turn back on. I tried stepping on the gas but it was super jerky and wouldn't even go past 4.5k rpm. It's sitting at my house now and has a full tank of gas. I turned it on and blasted the a/c and all I smelled was gas, I attempted to step on the gas but it didn't work it just kept dipping below 1k rpm. So would I have to completely like siphon the gas out? I would take it to a dealership but the closest one to me is about 75miles and I highly doubt the car could make it there. Any idea guys?
Update 1 - I got Roadside assistance to come tow my car to the nearest dealership. I believe distance won't play a factor. Now I just hope I everything is under warranty and that I don't have to pay anything
Update 2 - It's at the dealership now. I'll have to call Monday and find out since the service area is closed right now.
Final Update - I got it back from the dealership today. Apparently they think it was E85 gas in my car. I know for sure I pressed 92 grade when I filled up that day. They emptied my car twice and drove it a little bit each time. They called me and asked if they could keep it overnight to see how it would do the next morning on a cold start. When I picked the car up they just told me to drive this tank all the way to E then go to a gas station and fill up with premium and I should be good. The dude was gonna charge me like $500 since basically none of this stuff was under warranty. He only charged me $79.95!!! Overall I'm ecstatic that I have the car back but sadly not for much longer. I recommend everyone to go to Brandon Tomes Subaru in McKinney! They treated me so well with everything!
