I realize this is your "mistress" and you want to take care of her proper ...... so, I recommend you treat the engine like we would a French mistress, back in the day, ...........just wipe her dry and change the fragrant oils every now and then........

Ha ha humfrz, thing is out here its a desert so you get a lot sand particles and dust going into the engine bay so its always good to give her a good scrubbing every few months her being the mistress an all

Ive always washed car engines with hardly any issues normally ( there was a time my scirroco 1975 didnt like it and worked on 3 cylinders not 4 for a while

) my only concern would be the electronics but this is a Toyota not a Kia

so im pretty confident doing it. Cover up the cars computer with plastic and fire away. Does a world of good out here, gets rid of a lot of dust and sand, and on older cars cleans the oil spills so no burning oil smells etc. Ok buddy I'll take your advice and wipe her down with perfume (at low pressure)
