These cars don't hold up well to snow and ice. Last year after an ice storm I couldn't get in my car for two days, was afraid to pry open the door because afraid I'd break something.
This winter I'm buying a snow / ice cover for my windshield / wipers / and side mirrors:

And I also have a pretty good technique for doors. Masking tape and a little plastic bubble wrap (easier to handle than seran wrap) kept ice from covering my entire driver's side window and also from from getting in the door gap. Just be wary that masking tape will leave residue behind.
