Well, I'll take an exception to @
radroach 's theory about a bad throw out bearing causing a soft clutch feel.
I figure what he was feeling (after replacement) was a stronger pressure plate (if it was replaced) and/or a more aggressive clutch disk surface (cause it was new).
There is nothing about a throw out bearing to get "soft". It simple sits there, going round and round), until it's forced to push against the fingers of the pressure plate.
