Brings to mind the clear plastic, aftermarket seat covers back in the 50s.
They were expensive and were cold, crinkly and slick in the winter ...... and hot and sticky in the summer ..... but you could "see" the nice seats underneath ……..
Ahhhhh........ I forgot about keeping the back seat from getting "soiled" ....
