I just do. I live in a semi-rural area outside of Boston. No real city driving, but lots of driving between 35-45 mph on country roads in 5th and 6th and some highway driving.
My best is 34.5 mpg actual (36.5 indicated on the speedo) driving 350 miles from Ithaca, NY to just south of Nashua, NH on cruise control at 70 mph.
Note, typical is 30-32 on summer gas and OEM tires, 27-29 mpg on winter gas with snow tires.
