Dang labor rates have gone up, that or whomever quoted $500 is, ahem..
People got to eat, I guess. Say the labor rate is 100/hr (probably more) 5 hour job? Are they detailing the underside of the car while they're at it? do you get a back massage while you wait? j/k And I used to charge shops a fraction of that to bring my tools down to lower peoples cars for them back in the day. A fifth of that, sometimes less, but that's back-in-da-day.
