Yes, I could see this being done fairly easily. The entire diffuser would sit back that 6-8mm, but 1/4-5/16" really isn't that far back. I would then install the rivet nuts in the plastic behind the rear wheels that 1/4"-5/16" more rearward, those (2) points should line up great then. The rear middle most holes may have enough play to not need any modification at all to fit. If they do, I would slot that hole ever so slightly till it all bolts together.

Honestly, I see no issues with an install in this fashion .
