I don't see anything wrong with the adjustable ones other than they might cause issues timing wise? Honestly they are not necessary, HOWEVER make sure you test the car with LEDs in all spots just in case.
I personally prefer that if you have the money to spend in the future and enjoy features like tap to switch lanes and such invest in this:

That's what I have in my car, not only does it include tap-turn (i.e mines set to 4 signal flashes when you "tap" the stalk) for quick easier lane changes it's also got some other nice quirks and secret goodies. Also it doesn't delay when you hit the turn signal stalk on the first click (the longer first flash you talked about doesn't appear with this)
