Our OEM doors are pretty light for modern OEM doors. And yeah, the main reason the Seibon carbon doors are so heavy is because they still retain an OEM safety bar. Additionally, they have the whole interior side of the door to mount speakers and handles and window buttons and all that. I would not.

Plus they're probably more concerned with strength than I would be, so they probably use more carbon than I would. I don't have to worry about my own door exploding and then me suing myself. That major company on the other hand...

As the Colin Chapman quote I've had in my signature for years says, "any car which holds together for a whole race is too heavy." Once I make my first part, I'll have the mold forever. If the panel/part gets obliterated, I'll just whip up a new one real quick.
