Buying a new car from out of state is a no-go in California; at least it was when California had its own emissions requirements. I am not sure if a new "50-State" emission control car can be "imported" into California.

Just go into a dealership and don't let them F@$#$ around with you. Be calm and just say this is what I want. You've gotten lots of good info from here. You're prepared so just DO IT....buy that sexy FRS! We all look forward to seeing pics of your new car!
