Cars economy is very dependent on how you drive it and driving conditions.
Drive aggressively (heavy throttle accelerating hard) in city up/down hills ect. it will get economy like your getting
Drive sedately light throttle below 4000 rpm in flat countryside and it will get much better economy.
Make sure your using 93 fuel if possible, 91 fuel will get worse economy and slightly less performance
new motors usually get a bit worse economy than normal for first couple of thousand miles.
