As long as the car is "road-worthy" you will be fine.

Pretty much just make sure your car’s brakes, throttle-return spring and seat belts are in good working order. All lug nuts must be present and tight, wheel bearings in good condition, and the battery securely fastened. The car may not leak any fluids. The tires should have minimum tread depth. All loose items must be removed from the interior and trunk.

If you are bringing a newish FR-S, you shouldn't have any issues!

Also as the school and Sunday practice are not competition events, so no worry about classing!

If after taking the school you decide you want to get into the sport, we do have a local class called California Street Tire (CST), which is pretty much an unlimited class that just needs to be on Street Tires (140tw minimum). CST always gets good turnout and filled with lots of nice folks.
