This is the video I followed as well.
I'll try to get a pic of it when I can get a chance.
Actually I didn't splice, just tinned the wire with solder and stuck it in the plug by the hood latch. I think it was the 5th one down. Went in really easy and secured with small cable tie so it's not coming out.
