Oh right, I hear ya. This Saturday I believe there will be open lapping in the morning before the timed runs later in the day. That is a good time to get some seat time, but I'm not sure that they will have instructors available. So this Saturday might not be the best for a beginner.
For a first-timer, the event on 10/25 might be a better bet. There will be instructors available (I'll be there working the event and I'm glad to provide some insight. No, I'm not Sebastian Vettel, but I've been doing this for a while and can at least help a beginner!) and you will have plenty of seat time at that event. More info here:
