is replacing the belt on the e-force a relatively simple matter that can be done at the roadside should a belt break? i'm assuming it's the same as replacing the stock serpentine belt - just need a wrench to pull on the belt tensioner (and any other associated tools). i was just wondering whether it'd be prudent to carry a spare belt in the trunk and tools 'just in case'.

As with many other kits utilizing a v-belt driven supercharger for this vehicle, our E-Force supercharger belt routes around vital components such as the alternator and waterpump. If a belt were to fail, you will not be able to safely drive home.
Because of the risk involved, we go to great lengths to ensure this does not happen. We work with OEM suppliers to do belt performance analysis. Loads, duty cycle, and life expectancy are carefully tested in real world conditions. There are many factors that affect belt life. Tension, idler size and type, belt wrap, and heat just to name a few. In a clean environment with good alignment and normal operating conditions and temps we can expect a minimum of 37k miles of belt life on a standard EPDM belt.
However, we do not use standard EPDM belts. We are using Continental ELITE Poly-V belts with Helicog profiles. We have been using this belt on ALL of our supercharger kits since day 1. The superior material and design allow this belt to run quieter and withstand higher temperatures than standard belts. For more information click the link below:

We've really put this belt through some serious abuse with our 2300 series superchargers and it has proven itself many times in preventing belt slip and lasting longer than many other belts used for superchargers.
Lastly, replacing the belt is a one minute job at most. It is the same procedure as replacing the OEM belt. You do NOT need to remove any other components. Throttle or intake.
The belt is also easiest to obtain through Amazon Prime with one day shipping in case of emergencies.
