I really missed out by being a young guy with the FRS as my first sports car. I've not had the chance to drive many raw cars. The only exception to that was driving MLVW's with the army (or deuce and a half's for you 'Mericans) and that was something else. You had to be on the throttle for the power steering to work (if you were lucky enough to drive one with a functioning power steering pump), the brakes were air over hydraulic and were really prone to failure or massive fade and they were heavy as sin and provided the bounciest ride I've ever felt in a vehicle. No radio, no airbags and maybe 1 in 50 had a seatbelt that wasn't cut out of it 20 years ago.
I wouldn't trade those drives for anything.
