A buddy of mine bought one after high school.
He was given some money as a high school graduation gift to do with as he pleased. He used it to buy a retired fire truck which he then rented out to the DNR each summer to help fight the chronic wildfires that always break out in eastern WA. He made a killing with that old fire truck and the first thing he bought was a new 3000gt. It was black on black and he had blue lights fitted under the door sills and in the grille which he left on when parked. He was a few years ahead of me in school and it wasn't until later when he became a snowboarding buddy that I leaned the story of the car. By then I was pretty taken with small, sporty lightweight cars but I could still appreciate his for the capable GT that it was.
Certainly not my cup of tea now but a quick Seattle craigslist search is turning up several clean examples under $10k with 40-60k miles on them-maybe a good sc300/sc400 alternative..?
