Because dealing with overboost, surge, leaks and creating several other possible failure points is such a good trade-off

Each system has it's benefits and it's downsides. From what I have seen so far the KW kit is perfectly fine, most people just cannot adjust the belt at the proper tension or are too lazy to check it periodically to ensure it doesn't require to be re-tightened.
