The fittings on the PERRIN oil cooler lines are really tight! They're a special style fitting and hose to make it seal on the hose even without the clamp. We include the clamp just as a backup. This makes it pretty much impossible to take them off the hose once they're installed, so you will have to cut them off, shortening the hose.
Replacing the fittings on the thermostat side is easy though, they just unscrew from the thermostat. Hope that helps some!
