Spent some time this weekend setting up the suspension to my liking. From factory HKS sets the dampers to there suggested setting. To me this made for a very stable and safe handling car. Lots of rear end grip, if I had a real high HP car were rear wheel traction was real important I would have left it alone.
However I found myself missing the toss-able curvy fun of the stock car. So with a bunch of runs to tweak the dampers and stiffening up the front sway I now have what I was looking for. The car is extremely eager to dive into corners and begs to keep turning, I'd describe it like making a good carve on skis or a snowboard. This does leave the rear end a touch light but not to the point of being sketchy, only saw this while trail braking. I don't want to install a larger rear sway as I like how the car wants to rotate now and I don't want to pick up the inside rear any more. I'm also hesitant to just keep going stiffer and stiffer.
As a general idea here is my over all suspension setup:
-HKS coils, 8K springs front and rear
-Rear dampers set stiffer then fronts, for more high speed use I would raise the fronts a bit.
-Slightly more negative camber in the front then rear
-Front Perrin 22mm sway bar on stiffest mount
-Stock Rear Sway
-STI Rear Trailing Arms
-Rear Subframe Inserts
-Front Strut bars
-Welded in Roll Bar
