Just a quick question for the team that was involved with this kit, what is the measurement from the front of the bell housing to the centre of the shifter on that new tremec you installed?

I bought a salvage frs for the purpose of doing a LS swap,I can get any stock part off any car very easly and relatively cheap,I have a ls2 with 58x reluctor already and I'm looking for a tranny that will line up good..I realize it was stated that this build used a new tremec design but I'm trying to avoid buying brand new parts due to being on some what of a budget..through some research I found that a 04-06 GTO t56 lined up good with the competitor ls swap kit but after a lot of reaserch I decided to go with the vorschlag kit when it becomes available..so my question is will a stock t56 work and line up with the vorschlag kit..for example a 99-02 t56(out of a camaro) measures 29.5" from the front of bell housing to the centre of the shifter,04-06 GTO t56 measures 33"..will either of theses trannys work with the vorschlag kit and line up with the stock frs/BRZ shifter location or do I have to bite the bullet and call tremec to get the new ls magnimum xl?

Thanks,
Craig
Craig,... not part of the team that developed this kit but the owner, as far as Vorshlag coming on this forum and commenting,.. not sure thats going to happen. they would have to become a vendor to ft86 and they are not. Best thing to do is try and call them, and be patient as they are usually very busy with four or five projects. What I know as far as a T56 or trying any other transmission is that almost all OEM shifters made as of late are remote with linkages, you would have to adapt one of those or make your own, ideally you want the feel and ease of a non-remote shifter were it directly lines up with the OEM hole....the Magnum XL does that perfectly and in my opinion is optimum for the swap, it feels and shifts positive with no slop....zero!....Coming from a Mustang with the Getrag MT82 slush box I was extremely pleased going non-remote.
