A turbo's pressure is regulated via exhaust flow. If you have too much pressure you bypass the turbo and let the exhaust go around it. If you have too little boost you force all (mostly all) of the air through the turbo until the pressure goes up or down. This is all done in the SBD kit with an internal wastegate.
The blow off valve could not allow you to increase boost pressure because that means the turbo would have to produce enough volume of air to allow you to bleed it out. And if you were to do it this way then you would be adding extra back pressure in the turbo manifold when it is not needed lowering efficiency.

Well, actually you are correct. that's my mistake in my description of the problem/ my understanding of what they all described to me. I would be checking the install of the EBC but just haven;t had the time.
I bought my kit just before Chris Riggs added the 10psi wastegate actuator to the kit for free
