Ill try to summarize the fuel issue
The car requires 93 AKI (usa) to run to full potential
It will run on 91 AKI but at slightly reduced power due the ecu reducing timing as it detects elevated levels of knock. Its not going to blow up but will run a bit less smoothly and less power than if you run 93 fuel.
Back when I was a boy ethanol in fuel did cause some issues with some fuel system components rubbers/plastics and may have also caused corrosion issues. This was 20 to 30 years ago.
People also confuse ethanol and methanol, pump fuels contain ethanol not methanol
Almost any car made in the last 15 years will be fine with 10% ethanol blended fuel. as modern cars fuel system components are built to handle ethanol and their is enough compensation in the ecu .
Many of us run E85 (with appropiate tune) on stock fuel system components.
Ethanol has a higher octane rating than petrol, if you add 10% ethanol to say 91 petrol you will get something with an octane rating around 92/93.
however ethanol has less energy per volume than petrol so you will use slightly more fuel on 10% ethanol blended fuels.
Ethanol burns very clean and is a great solvent and is likely to clean your fuel system components and result in cleaner combustion.
Take a look at the exhaust of the guys on E85, no black residue :-)
You just need to use a fuel with the correct octane rating ie 91 or above best if its 93 or above, the fact it contains ethanol really does not matter as long as its octane rating is sufficient.
Different fuel from different fuel company can perform better seen it many times in peoples logged data even fuel with same octane rating .
