this still seems a sketchy to me as rods fail due to high pressure and its known that they are the weak link, just piling the boost in I think will result in tears down the road

Real track work is hard on the stock engine (hence the need for oil coolers, different oil, etc), why wouldn't you think more than doubling the output of the engine wouldn't accelerate that?
