I do automotive everything pretty much for a profession so sometimes I'll also do it on the side myself. Rarely has it been worth it for cash flow compared to the stressed frindships and headaches.

I used to do graphics and digital illustrating/paintings/comics on the side though that came to an abrupt stop when a friend of a pissed off roomate stole my pc and cintiq tablet. I actually did really well and on a good week could pull $3-500 depending on how many hours (talking 15-30hours a week, college nights) I wanted to spend on working. However every couple months I'd go through a 2-3 week drought of nothing. Hindsight it kinda balanced itself out. If I had 4-5k lying around I just might rebuy the equipment and do it again the upfront cost is killer.
