What you see is the little bit of dust that's left on the track. Most people ran a middle line for the sessions immediately after the cleanup, so it looked worse than what it was.

Ah that makes sense. One of my friends who lives in South Carolina has been inviting me to drive down and run Daytona with him, but I'll admit one of my fears is losing control on the banked oval at high speed if there's any oil/dirt on the asphalt. Especially on the high line, I think I'd crap myself. Haha I don't know if that's a rational fear or not though...
