I have yet to see a benefit from aftermarket intakes on modern cars. Feel free to prove me wrong, but you must PROVE me wrong, not just say "oem's are restricted" explain to me how with evidence. And imo a 5 hp gain on a dyno chart is irrelevant, too many variables and at best placebo gains.
There is no benefit to the OEM "restricting" the intake.

The oem instake is fine by itself and your endgame is better beneficial if you use an aftermarket intake with a tune. However other parts such as headers, exhaust (2.2" on stock), wheels ect are much heavier than a lot of aftermarket (more expensive) products and have lesser restrictive flow. However all of these makes very little increase in hp gains if compared to fi.
