Tomei UEL vs Skunk2 Alpha EL

Note: THIS IS NOT MY CAR. I enjoyed the results of this on my friend's car so much that I wanted to post it.

Same car, same mods, same tuner, same dyno (dynapack).

My buddy got bored and decided to swap to the Tomei UEL since everyone seems to be loving it. He had the Alpha on his car already and it was making good power, but wanted to see how the Tomei compared overall.

Would it lose power up top? How would the torque dip compare with his current setup.... Well, the results are both unsurprising, and surprising.

Torque dip, gone... it's a UEL, properly tuned, we expect this. But up top, the Tomei actually carries torque on the top end better than the Alpha, so the average HP above 7k is actually better on the Tomei. Didn't expect that.

I know there are a lot of headers to choose from for our cars, but I found this pretty compelling. For the average bolt on car, I can't see any logical argument in favor of an EL header unless it's for sound preferences. Maybe that's a controversial statement to make, but come on, that torque curve is beautiful now.

And for a bonus, I've also posted a graph that compares the current power output to when the car was 100% stock, on the same dyno.

Now vs stock - lol@there being more torque now than there was hp stock...

And an extra one to show the conditions on the dyno, so you can see how similar the environment was between the two:
