I think that the reason that most swaps never get finished is that by the time they are close to done, the builder has learned enough to know that he should have done it differently. The vision and the execution are not lining up.
It is also a fact that the last 10% of a project takes an exponentially growing amount of the resources (time and $$$) so if the enthusiasm/love has left the building, the reality of what still needs to be done becomes overwhelming and the project gets abandoned or sold off.
The question then becomes "What to do with the lessons I have learned"? Do you make a note to never do something this crazy again, or do you launch into the next project and profit from the lessons. I think I know what this particular builder is doing
This shit is hard work and the fact that some people make it look easy leads a lot of others into the quagmire.
