Another vote for the PTP blanket. Have one on my WRX (wrap on and secure with safety wire) and no complaints.

Would not risk cleaning or otherwise trying to get the oil out, I would do something like put it in the BBQ or an oven (junk/powdercoating) to see if I could vaporize/flash the oil out. Not even sure it would work once the material is soaked, or if the oven would get hot enough. Flash point is usually around 500F IIRC....

Yeah, nevermind. I would get a new blanket and not have to worry about the old one catching on fire or not working as well as it did.
