Sorry about the vandalism, so aggravating.

The G1W cam would need to be hardwired for always on use. Those kits are reviewed on the dashcamtalk.com site I linked above. They like the Lukas LK-290 best.

Their capacitor models are made to withstand heat better than the battery models. From what I've read, the tradeoff is that they take longer to boot as the capacitor charges but if it's hardwired that wouldn't matter.
