No joke. Of course I made it worse on myself with a Raceseng shift knob and lockout. Those things get hot in the heat!

After a nice 1/2hr lunch, she returned to find her pet gone with apparently no explanation. After sobbing on the phone to her Dad for an hour, she climbed into her car to drive away, and noticed a tiny post-it note under her wiper blade. From the Humane Society. With what amounted to a ransom note. Some "good Samaritan" had reported it. Her poor old dog was terrified at the Humane Society and she had to pay to get him back.
My takeaway is that when it comes to pets, people on both sides can lack common sense.

Both are in the wrong in that instance - your friend shouldn't have left an animal in an unattended vehicle.
