Because it isn't the same paint. Even different colours can be better or worse.
My 08 Lancer was the first year for the blue. After about 6 months it was bare metal halfway up the door frames from what the tires threw against the sides. No other colour was like that, just the blue. The very next year the had a new blue.
I hear horror stories from some of the colours on here about scratches and chips from just light touches but every chip and scratch I have were the result of impacts that would have damaged the paint on any car.
